Reclaiming the material from waste to resource,

collaboration with Anna Zeitler & Aurelia Becker

Together with Anna Zeitler and Aurelia Becker we were invited to the Eiermannbau in Apolda, where open studios were offered to diverse artists and designers.

We received 250 kg of unsorted disposed garments as a donation from SOEX to work with.

In Germany around 12 kg of textiles are disposed each year per person.

We took this unit as parameter to examine, deconstruct and repurpose the wasted material.

It shows our attempt to recover and reclaim the lost value of those garments, as well as visualize the amount of disposed material.

This experiment focused on minimal invasion while aiming for maximum transformation. A research for potential.

Following to our collaboration in Apolda, LAB_FOR_USE_LESS was invited to

„Nacht der Kunst 2020“ in Leipzig. Among other artists we showcased some

of the pieces we created during our scholarship at the Eiermannbau.
